Design Wall Monday - August 6, 2018

Hello Bloggers!  I am looking forward to seeing what you have been working on this week.  It's been beautiful weather in Michigan - 70's with lots of sunshine.  I've been working away on my redwork, with not much progress because it's been so nice outside.  Wednesday we hiked (two miles out and two miles back) to the Big Sable Lighthouse in the Ludington State Park.  You can climb the winding stairs to the top, and the view is incredible.   We took our daughter and three grandchildren out there on a beautiful day, nice breeze and not too hot.

What have you been up to?  I am just now getting to sit down at the computer and look at last Monday's Design Walls, as I've had company all last week.  I hope to catch up with you in working on my quilts this week.  Thanks for participating!

If you'd like to link with Design Wall Monday, please link back to this particular post somewhere within your blog post.  I appreciate it.  Happy Design Wall Monday!

  1. Looks like a wonderful place for a walk. Hope you get in some good stitching time this week.

  2. Being from the most eastern province of Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador, which is washed by the North Atlantic, I love light houses and the sea. Wonderful trip and lots of stitching time to come.

  3. I got a lighthouse passport a couple of years ago.

Of course I'd been to a number of lighthouses before I got the passport.
A week ago today I added three to the list, all at Presque Isle State Park in Pennsylvania.

The Lighthouse Stevensons by Bella Bathhurst is about the Scottish engineers who built many of the 19th century lighthouses around Great Britian. (Son Robert Louis took to writing instead.) And there's a wonderful new picture book called Hello Lighthouse by Sophie Blackall.

  4. I love the lighthouse, what a fun hike. I was so excited to see lighthouses on my east coast trip this year, they are fascinating and the one you pictures is spectacular!

I am always searching for new ideas and your feedback helps me learn how to do things better. Thanks for stopping by! Note that I am not on the computer daily, so responses to your comments happen when they happen.....I'm 80, and I hope allowances can be made. 😊
