Design Wall Monday - April 29, 2019

I got home Sunday from a quilt retreat in Shipshewana, Indiana.  While there I worked on several of my unfinished projects, and will show you some of them in the weeks to come.  Here is the final border that goes on the baskets thirties quilt.  It is so helpful to lay a border out and get other quilter's opinions on fabric placements.   I took pictures of the final version of the outer random pieces and will sew them together and put them on the quilt this week.  Yeah!

Spring has come, and the dandelions are everywhere.  Here is a pictures of a dear friend's great granddaughter picking a bouquet.   I remember doing that as a child, and also remember my children bringing me beautiful bouquets too.  It is known as a weed, but I think otherwise.  They are so cheery.

She's adorable!!

What is on your design wall this Monday morning?  Please link up and let us see what you are working on.  Thanks!  My only request is that you link back to this particular post somewhere within your blog post.   Happy Spring!

Your basket quilt is so bright and fun. The scrappy border is going to work so well with the rest.

I like dandelions too... I made dandelion jelly one year, but it did not taste good!

I bet you had fun - I have never gone there but always hear so many talk of it

OOOOh I love it. Hint, placing the dandelions on top of a mud pie really makes a mama happy, lol.

Your 30's basket quilt looks very nice on your blog but even better in real life. Beautiful! Have a wonderful spring working on all the projects you had at retreat.

Love the 30s prints--I have a quilt all cut out and ready to sew of 30s prints.
We had neighbors as kids who owned a turtle and one daughter used to knock on the door and politely ask if she could pick dandelions for the turtle!

Your Buds in the Basket quilt is looking fabulous with the border you have designed. This quilt pattern is so pretty isn't it. I have been toing and froing with my border around my Buds in the Basket quilt. I have decided not to use a scrappy border as per the book but just one fabric dancing around my baskets. Shocking I know. =) BUT.....on seeing your pretty border, perhaps I will change my mind yet again.
