I will show you the one that others seem to like the best of all that I have made. I don't have a favorite - they are like my children - I love them all.
The quilt that got the most interest on my blog is my version of Bonnie Hunter's Easy Street, last year's mystery quilt. I put my own spin on it, and also made it in green and red, for a Christmas version, and it was suggested that I name it 34th Street.
Here is 34th Street before the final outside borders:
Today, I'm working on adding the final outside borders, and this picture shows the final border fabrics selection going on at a local quilt store:
Easy Street was a fun pattern for me because there were so many versions out there, and the pattern was easy to play with. For instance, look at this picture of how different the left side of the picture and the right side of the picture looks - just by turning the little four patch blocks a different way. It was fun to play with on the design wall:
Note that the above version had candy cane fabric in it, which did not make the final cut. I added more green instead.
I'm also linking up with another Friday link-up site. Confessions of a Fabric Addict She has inspiring ideas there. What are you working on/playing with today?
I can see why people liked this quilt so much! It is indeed very beautiful! I am like you...it's so hard to choose a favorite! It's a good thing we like our quilts since we put so much work into them! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHi Judy, Of all of the Easy Streets that I've seen in progress, your 34th Street is my favorite! Makes me wish I had joined in. And it's looking good with it's borders, too! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI love your version of Easy Street. It was one of the first that made me wish I had used different fabrics. This is such a lovely holiday quilt, and I thought you were smart to switch out the candy cane fabrics. The added green gives it a real zip!
ReplyDeleteI remember watching the progress on your version of Easy Street, thinking how smart of you to make it a holiday quilt! I agree with Janet... love the green!!!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Debra, certainly my favorite of all the Easy Streets I've seen. Doing it in the red and green was a terrific idea.
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous in Christmas colors. I made mine in patriotic colors. I didn't try out any arrangements--just sewed it together like Bonnie said, so I really like the picture with some alterations.
ReplyDeleteYou are amazing. Are you tired of hearing me tell you that? --get used to it. This quilt is a stunner. It makes me want to make it, too. We shall see...
ReplyDeleteYour color combo on this project is perfect - I am not in love with the colors I chose so have kinda lost interested in finishing it. Congrats on your accomplishment.
ReplyDeleteLove your Christmas Easy Street..what a great idea!! I just made the quilt using Bonnie's colors and they were so pretty. Still need to finish borders
ReplyDeleteThey are like children aren't they?! Ha I totally agree, it's hard to pic a favorite, but this quilt is really beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThis is stunning... I really love this version!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI had to look twice to realize that it's Easy Street. What a beautiful interpretation!
ReplyDeleteThat quilt is so beautiful. I kept looking at it, breaking apart the blocks in my mind trying to figure out how I could make it. I had not yet realized it was Easy Street (which I had made during the previous mystery). Then as I was reading along, it dawned on me. All I can say is that it is stunningly beautiful!
