Design Wall Monday - July 17, 2017

Today's not a design wall, but a pile of little quilts that I am putting labels on.  I am not so good at completing that finishing touch of documenting my quilts.  I'm wanting to improve that so I'm spending my sewing time today making labels for several little quilts.

Also, if they don't have a hanging sleeve, or hanging triangles, on the back, I'm sorting those into a pile to add that also.  It's a day to work on the little finishing details.  What about you, What are you working on today?

  2. I'm not good about labeling my quilts, either. Great idea to just sit and do this one day. Enjoy!

  3. I've started adding my labels when I stitch on the the binding. It gets done that way and get all that hand stitching done at once. Good luck getting all your labels attached.

  5. I do love little quilts! And I, too, am not so good about adding either labels or corners -- usually I'm so excited to be finishing that I just forget. Well done, you, on getting these small but important details dealt with today. You're setting such a good example!!

  6. I'm with you on the poor labeling train! Generally I put labels on all quilts I am giving away; it is the ones I'm keeping that don't get labels. Love your pile of little quilts.

  7. What a delightful pile of small quilts. I am not good with labels and hanging sleeves anymore. Especially with the smaller pieces.

  8. Great idea! I made a quilt for my sister-in-law when she became a pastor. I didn't put a label on it and told her I would send it. I forgot and forgot. Some old stuff has come to a head between my brother and me from childhood (some very bad stuff) and there is no longer any communication. She retired after eight years. So, I guess no one will ever know where the quilt originated. That's ok. It's not as important as there dealing with his issues.

  9. Labels are sew important. However, I usually don't put them on small quilts/table runners etc.
Just an FYI: Your linky party closed early ... :-( It's almost 5 pm, Pacific time ...
