Good Morning Quilters!
I am out of town for the weekend, thru Tuesday morning, so I promise to catch up with all of your blogs when I get back. Son and DIL gifted us a weekend at a spa/golf resort with them. Very nice of them.
I am making more small baskets, and here is a picture of six of them before I add the bottom triangle and trim them to their 4 in. x 4 in. unfinished size. You can see how I make all the outside background pieces a little bit bigger so I don't have any issues with the block turning out too small.
They are so cute that I can't stop making them. I have about 50 made right now. Still no incentive to work on assembly of Jane Stickle quilt, but it will happen.
As requested, here are two pictures of Miss Penny Lane. Eating lunch:
And helping me sort the laundry. She especially likes to sort out the socks:
It's hard to take a still picture of Penny, as she's a constantly moving puppy. We are having a great time.
Hope to see what you are working on this Monday morning! Thanks for linking up!

Thanks for the tip about using squares at the bottom of the basket block. Cutting triangles to size (esp. with little baskets) is a pain. Miss Penny Lane is growing fast!
ReplyDeleteHope you had a wonderful spa retreat. Miss Penny Lane is a cutie and looks like she might occasionally be a handful too.
ReplyDeleteI really appreciate that tip about making the outside pieces bigger. I will employ that with my lilies!
ReplyDeleteOhh have a great time!!
ReplyDeletePenny is adorable! Our Milo, standard poodle puppy just turned a year old and is currently going through another adolescence. Imaging him saying, you're not the boss of me! He posts under my likes on Thursdays. LeeAnna
ReplyDeleteHope you had a wonderful, relaxing time at the resort. Penny Lane is adorable. I need and want a service dog badly. I have PTSD and stay home bound due to it. A cutie pie like her might help me to get out of the house. I'm trying to get my house in some semblance of order so that I can start piecing again. I haven't pieced in almost five years since my husband died. I'm itching to piece and I've promised myself that I have to do some other things first - I'm using the quilting as an incentive. Thanks for sharing all your inspiration.
ReplyDeleteI kitted up a whole quilt to take when camping. After three outings I had to admit it is too complicated a pattern to just dip into cold :)
ReplyDeleteI think I'll kit up a Blooming Nine Patch. Even I couldn't forget how to make a nine patch!
And I ordered a Sparrow sewing machine! And have my fw up for sale, my eyes are hopeless at threading a machine now. Plus the Sparrow is pink, how could I resist?
Cute baskets, but Miss Penny Lane takes the prize!
ReplyDeletePenny Lane is so adorable. My Enzo loves to steel pieces of clothing and lately its hubby's socks. He is so predictable and follows the same routine leading up to the theft. He then comes into my office where he lays on the sock.
ReplyDeleteWell, I don't know which is cuter -- the basket blocks or your adorable PUPPY!!! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE...
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to have a golf retreat. I love your basket blocks! I make a lot of blocks big and cut them down so they'll be square. It's a good trick! How are you making the handles? Has Penny Lane helped you quilt yet? lol She's a cutie.
ReplyDeleteHoping to get back into quilting this coming week. Life has been crazy here.
