Design Wall Monday - March 18, 2019

Hi Bloggers!   I'm on vacation - a much needed one.  But never a vacation from quilting, right?  One project I have with me is the redwork quilt.  It's an old project.  I blogged about it here (4 Years Ago!). It doesn't bother me to have long term projects in the works, I just keep plugging away at them off and on.  How about you?

There are 64 blocks in the quilt, and 6 to finish yet, with 58 completed.  I can embroider in the car while hubby drives, so this is my car travel/vacation take-along quilt project.

Here is the floss I am using, and it is just one strand, not like the six strand floss I have used on previous projects:

And a picture of the whole quilt from the kit package:

We have arrived in Corpus Christi, but the weather has prevented much outside activities.   The weather is going to improve this week, so we can enjoy the beach a little more.  If not, I will be on vacation embroidering.  It's all good!

What's on your design wall this week?  Please put a link to this particular blog post somewhere within your blog post.  I appreciate you.  Can't wait to see what you show us!

  3. Hope you get some good weather so you can enjoy the beaches. Enjoy your slow stitching time. I have a long term embroidery project that goes on our road trips, though I don't stitch in the car as it makes me car sick.

  4. sorry you are having rotten weather at the beach - that kind of spoils a beach vacation - hope it improves

  6. I love Redwork and did a Scandinavian Christmas project this year. Where did your project come from,Judy? I would be interested but I suspect it is vintage and may be out of circulation.
