Design Wall Monday - March. 8, 2021

Good Morning Quilters!  My design wall is looking different, and I am making progress on the two brown quilts.  Progress had to show if I kept working on them, right?  Here’s the Drunkard’s Path, which has grown:

And here is the Wedding Ring middle - all in one piece finally:

This quilt has a two inch border around it of brown, and then a wider border of white.  I had fun amusing myself trying to hide the one seam on each of the borders.  Below are pictures of the four borders, front and back:

What have you been doing to amuse yourself this week?  Show us what is on your design wall.  Please link up and tell us what you are working on.  Mention Design Wall Monday somewhere within your post, and don't forget to link back to this Design Wall Monday post.  Thanks!

  1. The brown fabric in the closeup is very pretty. Are both quilts from the same fabric? You've done a good job of matching the fabric, no one will be able to see the seam. Happy stitching!

  2. Yeah for progress! Sometimes it feels like forever before you see much progress. You did a really good job of hiding those seams. Happy stitching this week.

  3. Matching fabric repeats is like matching wallpaper. Sometimes the drop is small (like your brown borders) but other times it's four or five inches. The insert strips in many of my quilt backs are so that I don't have to struggle with that perfect match.....Both your brown projects are coming together so nicely! The spaces in the wedding ring will show off some beautiful quilting.

  7. Beautiful, both of them. Years ago I made the Wedding Ring exactly like yours in blue and muslin, still one of my favorite quilts. Thank you for the linky party.

  8. A finished middle is always a sigh of relief! Looking very good on both fronts :)
Making seams in borders is boring but you made it look elegant with your diagonal ones!
