Good Morning Quilters! And Happy 4th of July holiday to all in the USA! Here is one of my patriotic quilts, which I had two Grandsons hold up for me so I could take the picture. It’s a replica of an 1862 crib sized quilt. I wonder if the original quilt was ever used for a baby to sleep on?
The weekend was very peaceful at the lake with family playing lots of golf, while I stayed at the cabin with Penny Lane and my Granddog, Tucker. Penny and Tucker entertained themselves by spending the weekend carrying around one toy between them. It didn’t matter what toy, they both wanted it and the game was to try to take it from each other.
Also the milkweed by the back door was filled with butterflies. We have one monarch chrysalis on the porch ceiling already . There were other butterflies on the milkweed besides Monarchs. The pups took a break from their game and rested on the porch to watch butterflies with me.
A Monarch coming in for a landing,
I hope you have more quilty things to show us this week than I do. I won’t have company for the next few days, so I should make some progress on my UFOs. What are you playing/working on? Please link up to the Design Wall Monday linky party below and show us. Thanks for joining in!

Your dogs are just like little children! Hope you had a relaxing weekend and manage to get some stitching in this week!
ReplyDeletelooks like you had fun
ReplyDeletefunny doggies - we planted milkweed for the butterflies too
ReplyDeleteBeautiful crib quilt! Looks like the puppies enjoyed themselves. Hope you can recover from the weekend by getting in some good stitching time. That's my plan for the next couple of days till I have to go back to work.
ReplyDeleteLove the video of the dogs. It's nice they can have some fun together. I've never seen an Aphrodite Fritillary. We tend to get multiples of the Eastern Tiger Swallowtail butterfly which is the state butterfly of Virginia. Hubby thought he saw a monarch the other day. That would be a nice addition. Enjoy your days with out company.
ReplyDeleteYour patriotic crib quilt is soooo pretty. Those butterflies are enjoying the milkweed. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteOh your dogs - too cute!
ReplyDeleteAnd that baby quilt replica - wow!! a lot of work went into that - I am not sure I would have let one of my babies sleep on it ;-)
Happy 4th July, looks like you had a great time!
ReplyDeleteThat is one sweet little quilt. So much fun to see your dogs. Thank you for sharing
