Good Morning Quilters!
I apologize for not answering any comments this past week. I confess that I am not myself lately. Grief over the loss of my sister is one explanation and the war in the Ukraine is another. I appreciate all of you, and hope you understand.
Another week of sewing to reduce my plaid fabrics stash:
More of the plaid blocks were finished and put up on the design wall:
The large squares plaid quilt is off the design wall, all assembled, and ready for the long arm quilter. It measures 84” by 90” right now and is made of 6” squares - all different plaids. I will show it to you again when it is quilted and bound.
There were many exciting projects on your blogs last week. Please join the Design Wall Monday Linky Party again this week, and continue to amaze all of us. Such variety of projects in this group. Thank you for participating.
It takes time to process grief, that you've managed to stay focused on the plaids is an achievement. Reading blogs and responding to comments takes a lot of energy, you'll get back to that once you have the bandwidth. Love both of your plaid projects. Hopefully your stitching time has been therapeutic.
ReplyDeleteI love plaids! I haven't used them for a while, this is inspiring me to pull out that stack of fabrics.
ReplyDeletePeace be with you. Grief has its own timeline.
Losing someone you love is really hard, so be kind to yourself Judy while you grieve. It takes time so just play with your fabric while you heal. Plaids are medicinal!
ReplyDeleteI really like your plaid blocks on the design wall. I think it would look interesting without any sashing. But it's your quilt, do what you like best. Grief for your sister is to be expected. I pray you are remembering many happy memories. Happy stitching!
ReplyDeletewith loosing your sister and all that is going on in the world it is totally understandable to just not feel like being at the computer leaving people notes - take care of yourself!

ReplyDeleteI can’t imagine the pain of losing your sister. I love your plaid quilt. I have some Fat Quarters of plaids that would be perfect for this. Hope you don’t mind if I snag your idea!
ReplyDeleteOh, Judy. I completely understand . I still have not got back to my old self after the loss of my sister. It takes time, my dear. My heart aches for you. Your plaid quilt looks fabulous. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Sending hugs and blessings.
ReplyDeleteHi Judy, take your time to recover - it's not easy but since you're quilting, that's a great sign. Although your comments are always appreciated, we truly understand and want you to take the time you need. Answering comments should be the least of your worries. Take care of yourself.
ReplyDeleteSad and sorry you are one this awful grief road. I am walking with you in love. Getting my plaids out now!!! xoxo
ReplyDeleteLove the plaids, I hope stitching them will provide quiet time to remember your dear sister.
ReplyDeleteIt seems like the world is continuing to be "a wicked old place". Have to try our best to maintain our moods which always are tested, sadly. Thinking of you, though many miles away.
ReplyDeleteSending you love Judy - it’s a hard time, made even harder with the loss of a family member - be kind to yourself 💕
