Good Morning Ladies!
My quilting mojo has temporarily gone away. The weather has been so nice, and after finishing several long-worked-on UFOs, I took a break. Hopefully, I will get back to some quilting projects by next week.
What am I doing? I got sidetracked with a crocheting project and since it is almost finished, I am working on it until it is finished. I know basic crochet instructions, but this pattern had me learning new things, which is always fun. Here is my project, and I am starting row 78 out of 105 rows.
And a closeup of the center:
The free pattern from the internet is named A Warm Embrace and is found at this site…..(Here).
What are your projects this week? The Benjamin Biggs Wedding quilt blocks are on my design wall, and I feel like removing them for a month and put something else up there. They need a time out.
Join in our Design Wall Monday Quilty Party below and show us what you are doing. Thanks so much for faithfully participating.
The afghan is very pretty! Your daughter must have inspired your crocheting, it was very nice to meet her. Have a great week with whatever type of stitching you stitch!
ReplyDeleteYou look happy and that is the important thing, whether you are quilting, crocheting or fly-fishing :-)
ReplyDeleteoh - that is stunning
ReplyDeleteYour afghan is gorgeous! I am a knitter and have never really been drawn to crochet but this pattern is tempting.
ReplyDeleteJudy, your crochet project certainly looks like a challenge. I crocheted for years, before I learned to quilt. Now all my other crafty techniques has taken a backseat to fabric.
ReplyDeleteWow! You learn fast, it's a gorgeous blanket. Sometimes you have to stop and do something different. Enjoy your play with yarn, the sewing room will be there when you are ready.
ReplyDeleteGosh that is really pretty!!! Love that center!!
ReplyDeleteI got a gelli plate and then was reluctant to use it, crazy....your prints are fun and the hand stitching wonderful movement and lines. I should get my supplies out.
ReplyDeleteYour yarn work is so pretty, and there is a lot to be said for recharging your batteries by doing something very different

Judy, I crochet but nothing like this! You are such a clever stitcher! I love this blanket and yes, crocheting is so relaxing. Whenever I get back to mine, I wonder why I stopped.
ReplyDeleteHow pretty is that crochet project! It looks very warm and cozy, too. I haven't crocheted anything in a couple of decades, I'm sure!
ReplyDeleteYour crochet project looks amazing! What a fun detour from your quilting. When those quilt blocks return to your design wall you will see new things with fresh eyes. Enjoy your yarn adventures in the meantime!
ReplyDeleteJudy your crochet project is a beauty.
ReplyDeleteThat is a very beautiful crochet pattern. I think it would have me learning new things too. Enjoy! Quilting mojo gone and crochet mojo in - no problem.
ReplyDeleteYour crochet project is gorgeous and looks very complex!
ReplyDeleteSorry I'm late to the party again but better late than never!
