Good Morning Quilters!
This Monday marks the start of the second half of 2024. What is going to be on your design wall in the next six months? My plan this week is to look at all the UFOs in my studio, and really examine whether or not they will get finished by me. The last time I did an inventory, I liked them all, and didn’t want to eliminate any of them. I am also going to divide the lot of them into two piles: small or doll quilts vs. bed quilts.
The finish this week is a small quilt, 20” by 20”, and was not even on the UFO list! But that is the way it goes sometimes. Here is my small quilt version of “Two Step” a Barbara Brackman pattern:
Here is a picture of the blocks laid out before sewing them together:
And next, the finished quilt, next to it’s king sized version:
So, that is what I did this last week. What about you? I am looking forward to reading your blogs and looking at your pictures. Thanks so much for participating in our Design Wall Monday Linky Party. Happy July 4th celebration for all in the USA. I will post some patriotic quilts next week.

Your mini quilt is so petite and cute!!!!🩷
ReplyDeleteYour little quilt is so cute, I hope you can complete the big sister this week. Happy stitching and good luck downsizing your unfinished project pile.
ReplyDeleteLove that mini quilt!! I also am working on UFOs; trying to get my backlog finished or donated....sometimes a difficult decision! Hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteVery fun doll quilt! It does look tine compared to the bed quilt. Good luck sorting through your UFO pile and deciding what's next. I can see mixing in some doll quilts with the bigger projects could expedite reducing the pile. Have a wonderful 4th of July.
ReplyDeleteThe small quilt is just as pretty as the big one. Great use of the leftovers.
ReplyDeletelove this...was going thru my loose leaf notebook yesterday and came upon a photo of this one that i saved...yep it is a keeper
ReplyDeleteThat is a very cute little quilt. At 20” square — does that mean every block is 2.5” finished? Yikes. Wow. You did a terrific job on that one and the large one. The doll quilt, is a great way to use small scraps. I’m planning on making some doll quilts for a guild charity project so yours is a great example. Are you going to hand quilt the little one?
ReplyDeleteLove your little blue and white quilt. So amazing like scrappy and so perfect beside its big brother. Keep on trucking on the UFOs! It feels good to get them going and the good news is that it doesn't require quite as much work.
ReplyDeleteJudy your small quit is adorable and looks too cute next to your gorgeous bed quilt. I’ve been going through my UFOs. I like every single one of them. Now I just need time at the studio to quilt them on the longarm. I’ve also been busy kitting up projects with orphan blocks and scrappy bits. My finished flimsy this week was from leftover bits and scraps. Made me smile. Hope you have a wonderful Fourth of July. Thanks for hosting us. Have a good week fondling fabric. 😉 Carol
ReplyDeleteI would like to finish the 2 quilts and I think I will make the crumb blocks into placemats
