Design Wall Monday - November 25, 2024

 Happy Thanksgiving Week!

Here is a picture of my design wall:

I have only three more diagonal seams to sew and the top will be finished.

Also, I put the binding on two lap sized quilts.  Here they are:

The binding is not the most interest grabbing part of quilting, but when possible, I challenge myself to match the pattern on the fabric on binding pieces.  Can you see the seam on this binding join?

So even when quilters are doing mundane things, we can find ways to amuse ourselves, can’t we?

Hoping you in America have a wonderful Thanksgiving Day.  I think our Canadian bloggers have already celebrated it in October.  As I am 81 years old now, I go to one of my children’s home for the feast.  I am bringing a pie.  I enjoy being a guest now and leave the main preparations to my capable children.

What are you making this week?  Pies, turkey, and/or quilts?  I see Bonnie Hunter’s annual mystery quilt has started, but I am watching from the sidelines this year.  Are you participating?

Please join our Design Wall Monday Linky Party and let us know what you are thankful for this week.  I am thankful for all of you.  You are a blessing to me each week of the year.  Thank you!

  2. You've had a flurry of finishes the last couple of months. Congrats on both the big and the small ones. I'm a sucker for a BH mystery, so I'm doing it this year. Maybe I'll keep up? Enjoy your Thanksgiving time with the family.

  3. Nice accomplishments this week, great matching on that binding! We are providing the turkey for our son in law to smoke and we'll make pumpkin pie too and go to their house. Happy Turkey Day to you!!

  4. Your quilts (finished and in progress) are design inspiration. We'll be home for Thanksgiving which is fine with us.

  5. I am a guest but also the daughter-in-law. It can be a complicated role but I play it well, once a year :-) I am making Fruit Cake and two kinds of cookies. Dad will have the turkey, Paul has accepted his duty for making mashed potatoes and we will muddle through the rest. The Binding looks absolutely perfect. May your Thanksgiving be just as fulfilling as a well-matched seam!

  7. Enjoy your family Thanksgiving. We don't celebrate it in Australia but I think its a lovely idea. It always reminds me of the Harvest Festival when I was a child and I'm feeling thankful we're all healthy and happy. I'm going to do Bonnies mystery this year if I can keep up!

I am always searching for new ideas and your feedback helps me learn how to do things better. Thanks for stopping by! Note that I am not on the computer daily, so responses to your comments happen when they happen.....I'm 80, and I hope allowances can be made. 😊
