This is the first small/doll quilt that I made, years ago. My friend Dee gave me a kit from the Little Quilts store in Georgia (http://www.littlequilts.com/)
It was made many years ago, and has had lots of use as a mug rug, a hot pad, a display quilt, it's been everywhere. Everyone who picks it up says something nice about it. It is much loved. The tea set is the tiniest I own too. I've had it for about 40 years, and bought it in a dime store.
The outside measurements are 6.5 by 9.5 inches and the half-square triangles measure 1.25 inches.
Little chick wanted me to show you the back of it too. The prints that the Little Quilt store selected are lovely. Hope you enjoyed today's quilt.

Tea with Raggedy Ann and Andy
The cover of one of my favorite doll quilt books shows two Raggedy Anns having tea together. The book is "Childhood Treasurers - Doll Quilts By and For Children" by Merikay Waldvogel. The Raggedy Ann and Andy in my picture are from the 60's and were loved dearly by our daughter and son, when they were little children. Andy has had several head repairs after childhood teething incidents.
My replica measures 18.5 by 18.5 inches, and is machine pieced and machine quilted. It went very quickly and was fun to make. The patches are one inch.
Thanks for your lovely comments on the last quilt. Hope you like this one!

Finished Quilt! Yeah!
Today I finished the doll quilt, and here is the original one in the book Small Endearments, by Sandi Fox, on page 157, Plate 192.
Here is my version, lying on top of a doll dresser:
It is machine quilted in a simple crosshatch design. It was fun making it - almost like the little quilt in the book jumped off the page and is now residing at my house.
Stay tuned to see another one soon. I will post again when it is started.

First Post in my blog - making quilts from the book Small Endearments
This is the quilt that I made today. I made a replica of a doll quilt from one of my favorite books of doll quilts - Small Endearments by Sandi Fox. I copied the quilt on Page 157, plate 192. After making the half square triangles to finish at 1 inch, I pressed all seams open from then on, as the blocks were so small. The quilt measures 12.5 by 15 inches before binding, and in the book, it's 13.5 by 16 inches.
