Some of the block fabrics are from an old quilt top that I took apart and recut the pieces to make them uniform. I blogged with pictures of the cutting/remaking process (Here)
The album block can have signatures or sayings in the middle white part of the block, but it will remain just the way it is now.
The pictures of your work last week were fantastic. I have to keep restraining myself from starting some of the projects you are showing us. I must wait until my UFOs are finished before I jump into some new quilts, but patience is not my strong suit. Please remember to talk about Design Wall Mondays in your blog post, and provide a link to this post. Thanks.
You used several striped fabrics to great advantage in that quilt. Beautifully done! Congrats on all the progress.
ReplyDeleteThat's a very cute quilt top. I very impressed to hear you are recycling from a quilt you took apart.
ReplyDeleteNice job getting your quilt top together! It has real visual impact, with all those various stripes!
ReplyDeletethat is good to recycle an old quilt top and make it new. Sometime at some family event or something your could bring it out and maybe get family to sign the signature areas!
ReplyDeleteRed and brown is a combination that sounds as though it shouldn't work, but obviously it does in your album quilt! The front came through last night with some showers -- it will be 15 degrees colder today.
ReplyDeleteThat quilt turned out so well. I'm not sure I'd let someone touch it with a Pigma to sign those blocks! But I could see you embroidering some great sayings on it!
ReplyDeletethat is just an amazing quilt top!! those fabrics are to die for!!
ReplyDeleteOh this is so lovely.
ReplyDeleteJudy, your top came out absolutely stunning! What a masterpiece this will be! I wish I had your restraint about not starting new projects until the old ones were finished. I started a new one this week... And of course that just pushes the finish line on all the other projects farther off into the future!
ReplyDeleteThe "brown" quilt is absolutely darling! I am coveting it very much!
ReplyDeleteYou blended old and new beautifully. The quilt is stunning.
ReplyDeleteLooks just beautiful—love all the direction changes in the stripes. Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteHi Judy, your quilt looks so rich - it's really a beauty on the bed. Take care.
ReplyDeletePerfect quilt colours for the season! Well done.
