Good Morning Quilters!
This past week, I worked more on appliqué leaves and flowers for the Cousin’s Walk quilts. I have one end of two of the borders yet to do, and am feeling the surge to finish it. So glad that I am working on it again.
Here are the ends of two borders that are now finished:
The second project ongoing is the UFO of Log Cabin.blocks. I made 10 more blocks that will finish at 7.5 inches square. While sewing them, I wondered what little blocks would look like. You know I like to make little blocks.
So, dividing the measurements in half, resulted in little blocks that finish at 3 3/4 inches square. Here are two blocks side by side:
I had fun making them, and have started the next 10 blocks in each side. There is something soothing about adding strips to a block on the sewing machine. And batching them in tens makes the completion count go faster.
And here are ten of the little blocks on my design wall:

What are you working on this week? There were lots of beautiful pictures and interesting blog posts last week. Thank you for participating. I am looking forward to reading what you post this week. Join our Design Wall Monday Linky Party below.

Just one more border for the Cousins Walk quilt, you go girl! The little log cabin blocks are so cute! I like to sew LG blocks in groups of 10 also, happy stitching!
Those little blocks are adorable, too!!!
You had a very good week on both the hand and the sewing machine stitching. Those tiny log cabins look so neat, very precise. Happy stitching this week.
I'm just finishing up a Log Cabin Challenge for a Quilt Therapy group I go to. I did 4 small blocks and then added fabric around the piece to embroider on. Just need to quilt the blocks and frame it to show tonight at our meeting. Nothing like last minute! LOL I will have to try your micro blocks. Mine were the 3.5" finished size.
Wowser! Those baby log cabins are cute. I have a rubber stamp of a small log cabin at about the same size but there are way less rounds. It's for stamping on a fabric foundation (or I guess paper). I haven't sewn one of those for a long time. You've been making great progress on both of your projects.
Your log cabin blocks - big and small - are so pretty! I do love log cabins! This week I'm trying to move a couple of projects along with borders.
Log cabin blocks are my favorite to piece. I love that you can be very precise with the size of logs, or make them a little wonky by varying them. Thanks for the chance to share in your party.
Your Cousins Walk borders are beautiful. So are your log cabin blocks, but the minis just stole my heart. They are just sew sweet! Thank you for hosting us all. 😁 Carol
Hi Judy, I also love stitching log cabin blocks, although I've yet to make one that is half light and dark. It's on my bucket list! Good luck with your appliqué, it's coming along nicely. It's encouraging when the end is in sight!
