Happy Mother’s Day to you!
Last week I got out my UFO log cabin quilt blocks. I looked back on my blog posts and the last time I had this project out was February, 2021.
But last week, the simplicity of adding strips of dark and light fabric around a center red square was just what I needed. Here is a picture of the 200 center squares that were the start of this project many years ago:
I had only about 16 blocks (that will finish at 7.5” square) before this week, and made some good progress on 10 more blocks. Here is a picture of the 10 blocks partially finished:
When complete, there are four lights or four darks around the center. I hope to get these 10 blocks completed this week. It is fun to use so many different fabrics in a quilt, and I am once again having fun quilting.
How about you? Hope to see your blog posts and project pictures in our Design Wall Monday Linky Party. Thank you so much for participating. And Happy Mother’s Day!

Log Cabin quilts are so beautiful! You have different fabrics to add to them now, happy stitching!
log cabins can be very soothing to a quilters soul
It's nice to have multiple projects in the wings, you can switch out when you are feeling overwhelmed or just tired of the project you are working on. It's going to be a very cool quilt.
Beautiful log cabin blocks! I do love log cabins.
Lovely log cabin!!
So happy that you are sewing! It will be very pretty with so many different fabrics. :)
I love that you are circling back around to your old log cabin project. It looks great.
