Design Wall Monday - October 19, 2026

Good Morning Quilters!

This week I worked on making more blocks for the Old Mill Pond quilt pattern.   There are 18 blocks in this quilt and several outer borders.  I put the blocks I have (15) on the design wall, as I was anxious to see what they looked like all together.  I like it so far.  I am using available indigos and greens from my stash, and using neutrals from my stash too.  It feels good to use some fabrics from my own “shop” and whittle down my extensive fabric collection.

Here is a progress picture.  Three more blocks to make and then I can start assembly of the center of this quilt.

Here is the pattern for reference:  It is by Pam Buda of Heartspun Quilts.

The Jane Austen quilt is still on half of the design wall, and I am also working on the sashing on that one.  This coming week looks like it is not so busy, so I hope to make progress on both of these quilts.

There are only nine more rows to sew the sashing between each block, and each row gets shorter as I move toward the outer edge.  So this will get finished soon, once I get started on it.

Are you working on two quilts at once…..or more?  When I talk to other quilters, very few of them work on only one project at a time.  Join our Design Wall Monday Linky Party and show us what you are working on this week.  I so enjoy reading your blogs and looking at your pictures.  Thank you for participating.  You bring me joy.

Design Wall Monday - October 12, 2026

 Good Morning Quilters!

This has been another busy week.  A grandson got married Saturday, and it was a beautiful wedding.  A lovely fall day, with the wedding in a beautiful garden.  Life is very full of happiness right now.

One of my favorite fall quilts is from a pattern named “Third Weekend in October” by Ruth Powers and is of autumn leaves.  The grandson who just got married has this quilt, as he chose it several years ago from my quilts as the one he wanted to keep.  His bride said she thinks their quilt will be renamed “Second Weekend in October” as that is now their wedding anniversary.  Since I’ve not made any progress on my two current projects this week, I’ll include my pictures of their quilt before it was gifted to him years ago.  It was a lot of fun to make.

And a picture of the maple trees in our front yard.  They always put on a great show in October.

If you want to make this Ruth Powers quilt, the pattern is only $8.00 on the internet.  I am tempted to make it again as I miss having it in my house during the fall months.

What have you been working on?  I hope you have been more productive than I have been.

Design Wall Monday - October 5, 2026

Good Morning Quilters!

I love fall!  Here is a picture of a field of pumpkins that I took a few years ago.  I was driving past it and had to stop and take a photo.  Fall is full of beautiful sights like this one.

There is more progress on the Jane Austen coverlet quilt kit.  Here is a current picture of my design wall:

I am excited to report that the center medallion is fitting well into the spot reserved for it, and now has sashing on three sides of it.  I feel like a half-way goalpost has been achieved.  Ten more rows to complete and join to the rest of the quilt.  And then the borders will be added.

One of the Instagram people that I follow is “Reproquiltlover”  and she had this wonderful Autumn bucket list on her site this week.  I am going to try to check off a lot of these this fall.  How about you?

What is on your design wall?  As I have said before, I love to hear from everyone about what you are working on, and you don’t have to have an actual design wall to participate.  Please join our Design Wall Monday Linky Party below and show us what you have going on.  Thank you to all who participate.  You are a blessing to me.
