Whenever I see a cute project on someones blog, I think about making the quilt myself. That's why I got started making little quilts once a month with my Internet friend Tilda, at http://Huckleberrystitches.blogspot.com. She has a little parade of doll quilts on the first of every month. Here is my entry for the June 1st group post.
It is a rail fence pattern, and I used indigo fabric and shirting. It finished at 12" by 14".
Tilda posted the quilt she wants everyone to make for June and I had the day free yesterday, so I made it and here it is:

It measures 14 inches square, and I took a picture of it outside this afternoon. If you want to see the June 1st quilt along parade, or join in for the July 1st parade, go to Tilda's blog site: (Here)
The flowers are Dianthus, and they are putting on quite a show right now. Here are two more pictures of this perennial that is very easy to grow.
Hope you are having a great start to June! The weather here has been perfect this week in Michigan.

You know, I do the same thing--and your idea about little quilts is a great one...to try out projects..Love that little rail fence in the blue/white combo...very nice work...hugs, Julierose
Love this quilt and I admire your garden. Also the weather in Athens (Greece) has been sunny this week. Let's welcome the summer!
Shirtings and indigo are such a classic combo - love it! I will check out Tilda's blog.
What a great little quilt project for June!
oh the flowers are pretty
Judy that little indigo quilt at the top reminds me of the quilt you made for me a couple years ago, for the Humble Quilts Doll Quilt exchange. I see some of the same fabrics. Your (my) quilt is on my nightstand, so I look at it every day! I still consider it a treasure.
I saw her reference a book for a pattern. Does she get her patterns from the same book or does she skip around?
What a treat to open your blog and see not only this months but next months quilt as well!!! You are Fast! I love both of your quilts you did a lovely job. Any of yuor friends that want to join along I have edited the post to direct them to the Quiltalong! Join in if you like ladies!
Thank you! I have a friend's little quilt on my nightstand, so I know what you mean. I love Lori's little quilt exchanges, and am so glad you like mine (yours).
She gets her monthly challenges from two books: Small and Scrappy by Kathleen Tracy and Sew Charming by Mary Etherington and Connie Tesene.
Very cute doll quilts!
