Good Morning Quilters!
This past weekend was the third weekend in October, which makes me want to show you one of my favorite quilts. “Third Weekend in October” is a pattern by Ruth Powers and is available from her website for $8.50. (Here)
It’s 85 x 110 inches, and is paper pieced, like a large but easy puzzle. Since I have given it to our Grandson Hunter, here is a current picture of him with the quilt, at his apartment. He is my favorite Grandson…..(they all are!)
There are several pictures from previous posts that show more of the quilt and I include some pictures here:
Displayed on the couch when we lived in Virginia. I made it while we lived there.
In Grand Rapids, on the entry way railing:
Picture taken from the top of the stairs, at the cabin, looking down on it on the floor. It was too big for my design wall here in Grand Rapids.
And here are two pictures taken this week of the beautiful leaves on display in our yard. The quilt is aptly named!
Taken from my bed, of the backyard. Colors are brighter, but it was a rainy day.
And the maples in our front yard, which always give us a great display of color:
Happy Third Weekend in October ladies!
Please join the Design Wall Monday Linky Party below, and show us your projects, and pictures. Thank you so much for participating.

Third Weekend in October is gorgeous! Your grandson is so lucky to be the recipient. Not much fall color here, I think this year the leaves are just going to turn brown and fall off. Enjoy your gorgeous views.
The quilt is a beauty and its owner is a handsome fellow. Finally getting fall color here in Illinois, too.
The view from your bed is a gorgeous one to awake to. The handsome grandson looked pretty pleased with his quilt, which is understandable. The quilt is gorgeous!
That is one beautiful quilt. Your grandson is lucky to have it and he seems happy to share it with your readers. Your maples are beautiful. We don't have many trees around our yard and none have been putting on great displays of color. We've seen a few beautiful pictures of trees near the Blue Ridge Parkway that are almost as pretty as your trees.
You are wise to gift quilts now so you can see them being enjoyed. Happy stitching!
very neat quilt and good looking grandson!
A gorgeous autumn leaf quilt (and a challenging design!), spectacular views out your windows, and a very handsome grandson!
Congrats on the finish! I love the quilting design also!
I have to say what a striking quilt that falling leaves is. So many beautiful leaves and so many warm fall fabrics. Hunter is lucky to have such a great treasure. Loving the fall trees here as well.
Hi Judy, that is such a beautiful quilt! Enjoy the fall colours and thanks for the party!
