Design Wall Monday - June 25, 2018

Well June is almost over; I can't believe it.  I did take three quilts to a long-arm quilter, so that is something quilty, but not much else has been happening around here.  I brought my redwork with me while at the cabin, and here is the latest block that I'm working on - two chickens:

My question to you is:  Just how many chickens should be in this redwork quilt?  Why do I ask?.........well, here is a block that I finished a long time ago, for this 64 block quilt:

So part of me says throw away the half finished chickens block, and part of me says finish it, and put them both in the quilt - it will make someone wonder years in the future why there are two squares just alike in the quilt.  What are your thoughts?

I have two two chicken blocks......is it just too too much?

Here are Penny pictures for those of you who have asked for more pictures of her.  At dinner time:  three meals a day, and each time she acts like she hasn't eaten in a week - so hungry and so quick to eat and drink that she often has the hiccups after eating.

On the front porch of the cabin - ready to face new adventures every day.  I think this is her version of being "on point" when she hears something or smells something new:

Basking in the sunlight in the living room, with a bone:  She chews on everything, so I try to keep a bone nearby, as a substitute for whatever she shouldn't be chewing on:

What have you been working on?  I am looking forward to seeing all of your design walls today!  Thanks for participating.  The linking rules are as usual - please include a link back to this particular post somewhere within your blog post.

Design Wall Monday - June 18, 2018

Hello Design Wall Friends!  I have only sewn a little bit on the Jane Stickle Quilt this week, and have no new pictures to show to you for that project.

I'm at the cabin up north, and have with me my redwork project, and am working on the four borders for this quilt.  I think I've shown pictures of the borders before, but here is another picture:

I'm feeling stressed about the Jane Stickle quilt, so I quit working on it and picked this embroidery to take with me while I'm away from home.  My hobby should be relaxing, not stressing, right?  Another picture of one of the four borders:

Hope you are more productive that I am this week!  Please link with this post and show everyone what is on your design wall.  Thanks so much for participating, as I look forward to your blog posts every week.  Penny Lane is doing just fine, and has been keeping me very busy.  We are having fun in the woods here, but I am keeping her on the leash at all times because a neighbor showed me a picture of a black bear at her bird feeder this last week!

Design Wall Monday - June 11, 2018

This week I have done zero quilting.....nada.....but I attended two Grandchildren's high school graduations from two different high schools, and one graduation party, one 80th birthday party for husband's sister, and entertained guests at the cabin.  Plus I've been mothering our new puppy, Penny Lane, so I'm not a slacker in other areas, only in quilting.

I'm looking forward to being in the quilt room today.  Yeah!   What am I going to work on?  The Jane Stickle quilt that I've been putting off.  Today is the day.  The design wall with one lonely unassembled outer border.  I hope there is more progress to show you next week!

Here is a picture of Penny Lane trying to catch the broom as my husband was sweeping the sidewalk.  She makes every job fun!  I have a video of this, but don't know how to load videos here.  I will have to learn how.

Also please be aware that there is some glitch in Blogger that doesn't send me an email when you post a comment, but they are supposed to get it fixed this week.

I am looking forward to your links!

Design Wall Monday - June 4, 2018

Good Morning Quilters!

I am out of town for the weekend, thru Tuesday morning, so I promise to catch up with all of your blogs when I get back.  Son and DIL gifted us a weekend at a spa/golf resort with them.  Very nice of them.

I am making more small baskets, and here is a picture of six of them before I add the bottom triangle and trim them to their 4 in. x 4 in. unfinished size.  You can see how I make all the outside background pieces a little bit bigger so I don't have any issues with the block turning out too small.

They are so cute that I can't stop making them.  I have about 50 made right now.  Still no incentive to work on assembly of Jane Stickle quilt, but it will happen.

As requested, here are two pictures of Miss Penny Lane.  Eating lunch:

And helping me sort the laundry.  She especially likes to sort out the socks:

It's hard to take a still picture of Penny, as she's a constantly moving puppy.  We are having a great time.

Hope to see what you are working on this Monday morning!  Thanks for linking up!
