I'm also cutting pieces to prepare for a Bonnie Hunter class, Talkin' Turkey, which will happen at my guild in early April. I put the pieces for two blocks together to see what it would look like, and it's on my design wall also.

Design Wall Decisions
This week I'm making some decisions to finish Birds of A Feather, a Blackbird Designs pattern. It was gifted to me, partially completed, by my friend Sharyn Woerz, and I am feeling the urge to finish it up. I am auditioning some plaids to use for the pieced blocks of the quilt. What do you think?
It's Monday, so I'm heading to Judy Liquidara's blog to look at all the other quilter's design walls. (Here) It's sunny and bright here, and the birds are telling me that Spring Is Coming!

There is such a nice variety of colour in the appliqued blocks you can't go wrong with any of the fabrics you are auditioning. Should be a lovely finish.
That is a beautiful applique project!
I really like the idea of plaids for those other blocks--gives the whole quilt a new look...lovely blocks...hugs, Julierose
I like the plaids and homespuns a lot. The colors are spot on and the differing scales of plaid provide good variety. I have several of the booklets put out by Blackbird Designs. I was introduced to them through their counted cross stitch charts and when I began quilting was happy to see they also had quilting patterns.
I agree with Nell. Any/all would work.
Love the homespuns and I think it would add a lot of interest to this quilt.
I really like the plaid homespuns. They add a bit of coziness and warmth to projects.
Just love those Talkin' Turkey blocks too!
Awesome! Love the colors.
