Design Wall Monday - May 21, 2018

Here is another "brick wall" type of quilt that I made this week.  I had a ziplock bag full of rectangles, indigo and shirting - I think they were left from mis-cutting some blocks, but I don't remember.  I put them together and made a little doll quilt top (12 in. by 16 in.)

There wasn't a lot of playing in the quilt room because I've been busy procrastinating on putting the Jane Stickle quilt together.  Hopefully, I will continue on with that project next week.

Here is a picture of one of the fabulous trees here in Michigan.  Everything is in full bloom:

And the most exciting news of this week is:  We got a puppy Saturday night!
We have not named her yet, what do you think we should name her?  She is a yellow labrador, and is 7 weeks old.  A little bundle of joy!

Please link up to Design Wall Monday as usual, and show me what you are working on this week.  Hopefully this cutie will have a proper name by next Monday!  Can't wait to hear what you think her name should be.

Sweet little brick quilt and how nice to have a new puppy in the house. I also just got a new dog he's almost two and I named him Mac after my maiden name Mac Callum.

At least you made something fun while procrastinating on the other project. Your doll quilt is very cute. Enjoy all the pretty spring blooms.

That tree is just gorgeous.

Sounds like you are going to be busy with a new puppy. I wish I could think of a name for such a cute puppy.

Oh, I got distracted by that gorgeous puppy! Lots of yellow Labs in my family and of course we have our Murphy, a black Lab. They are surprisingly affectionate for a big dog. At home, male dogs were called Laddie and female Lady quite often. Your dog looks lady like. Do you have a favourite author or heroine? I like both Synthia and Betty Lou's ideas. Anyway, enjoy!

If that isn't the cutest little pup!!! The name Cami popped into my head, no clue why. Love the little quilt. It has a vintage vibe.

Cute bricks quilt. I understand about letting Dear Jane stew a bit more :)

It seems a popular girl's name might be Meghan.

Oh what a wonderful bundle of joy. (and teething and ...pe.....!) So two names popped into my mind -- first Caramels -- she's just the right color for a yummy caramel. But it seems like a long name to call out. Maybe shortened to Carrie? Alternate suggestion is Vanilla. Again, long name. And, who names a dog Vanilla? So my brain worked on a abbreviated version -- Vanny or maybe Lilla. Have fun with your baby. Great small quilt and using up something already cut? Fabulous! What is the name of this gorgeous tree? I'd love to have a tree that blooms so beautifully in my yard. (Oh wait, no more room for trees. Rats.)

My suggestions for her are Ruthie and Bobbin—have fun finding the perfect name! Love your blue bricks too!

Everything I was going to say completely slipped my mind when I saw your puppy. She is adorable! She looks like a huggable little buttercup.

How about "Sally" for your cutie pie lab. We adore labs and have "outlived" several of them. Our current yellow lab Freddie turns 8 in June and just couldn't be a more wonderful companion.

What a fabulous tree. What type is it? I'd name her Honey.

Love the puppy! Am terrible coming up with names for our pups. Our black standard we kept the name Tilly. Actually she is Tilly III. The first 2 were also black standards! Tiki came named! Love the bricks too!

What a cutie pie! Congratulations. I love the wiggles that puppies do and how soft their fur is. I do not like how sharp their teefs are!! =P I would name him or her Pierre! =)
