Design Wall Monday - October 17, 2022

Good Morning Quilters!  I am in Virginia this morning to meet with The Churn Dashers of Tidewater Virginia.  Unfortunately, it is our last meeting, as we have decided to disband.  We are all getting older, and feel this is best.  There is a time for everything, and as we get older, we realize there is a time to let some things go.

But, since I am now in Virginia, and not at home, I wrote this post Saturday before I left.

And when it's the Third Weekend in October, I must talk about this quilt again.  It was a lot of fun to make, and it now resides with my Grandson Hunter.

I blogged about quilting it  (Here)  and again (Here) when I repaired a hole that his dog chewed through it.

The designer is Ruth Powers and her website if you want to buy the pattern is (Here)

And this is a picture of the backyard woods taken from the living room window on Saturday:

Hope you are enjoying the beauty outside wherever you are.  There is always something beautiful to see in nature.

What quilts are you working on during this beautiful October day?  I hope you will join the Design Wall Monday Linky Party and show us.  I appreciate all of you who participate.  Thank you so much.  I will be back home on Tuesday, and will catch up with reading your posts then.

You are invited to the Inlinkz link party!

You are going to miss this group of friends. I think you've been quilting together for many years! The leaf quilt is lovely, The leaves on the trees are prettier than usual this year, for some reason there is more red in the leaves instead of just yellow. Have a safe drive, or flight, home to Michigan!

What a beautiful autumn themed quilt! So sorry your group has decided to disband, hopefully there is still the option for reunions even if the group isn't active going forward. Enjoy your time hanging out with your friends.

I've had to say goodbye to several groups and it's always difficult. LOVE your quilt and wanted to make one like that for years. It takes planning to get colors in right place, and I'd want to make one for the king bed so who's gonna quilt it?? yikes!
lived in mid atlantic (maryland) for ,many years and still miss VA

The autumn quilt echoes the view from the window. What a lovely gift for Hunter.

It's sad when a group ends but you can always do small zoom meetings. If I remember correctly you can set a time and set up a free Zoom meeting. At least you can keep up with each other a little. Your fall quilt and trees are beautiful.
